Lost
Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you Are not lost.
Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you,
If you leave it you may come back again, saying Here.No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still.
The forest knows Where you are.
You must let it find you.~ David Whyte, The Heart Aroused: Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in Corporate America

If we were having coffee: It’s been a long week
“Gain strength. Suck up energy. Make a point of appreciating the fragrance of the flowers and the beauty of the sunset. It is like armor. When you take a moment to practice my message you can then be armed with an ability to be detached. One is meant to forgive, to forgive and be compassionate.”~Kuan Yin”

A Night Full of Talking
A night full of talking that hurts,
my worst held-back secrets. Everything
has to do with loving and not loving.
This night will pass.
Then we have work to do.~ Rumi, From “A Year With Rumi: Daily Readings”

If we were having coffee: Finding my voice
Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated.

A Tuesday meander at the Point
a rolling sea
in dreams of walking
beautiful lines grow tall
in blurred woods
as an illusion of clouds drift by
while the moon stands still
I am enchanted
by garden owls~ Search Engine poetry (lines borrowed from the search engine terms that bring people to my blog)
