I can’t figure out what they are, PhilosopherMouse. They sprung up in some dirt that we had moved from near the pond to fill in a hole left by a juniper we dug up and moved to another spot. I’ve been meaning to go out and look at them again, but keep forgetting. I’ll write a note to go see them tomorrow. Maybe they’ll have morphed into something familiar. 🙂
