The most valuable thing we can do for the psyche, occasionally,
is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of room,
not try to be or do anything whatever.~ May Sarton
It is time for me to take another break from blogging. There is so much going on in my life right now that I’m finding it difficult to keep up.
It is time for me to attend to things of the body, things of the mind, and things of the spirit as well as the work that needs to be done here at the Wabi-Sabi Ranch. To do that, I have to disconnect and redirect my focus for a while.
Tomorrow I will probably wake up and think, “I have The Best Idea Ever for a blog post!” I’ll want to run to the computer to look at images and start typing. Or go outside to capture the images for this brilliant blog post. That is how the mind works when I tell it that it’s time to take a break. The mind says, “But, oh! Wait! Just this one…”
I will resist the urge, the desire. I can’t promise I’ll resist looking in on you every now and again, but I do plan to give it a try. The first few days will be easy as I will be spending them with family.
I do have a scheduled post coming out next week. A book review that I promised to do. That will appear, all on its own, on July 31.
I don’t know when I’ll be back so I will wish you a good rest of the summer (or winter if you’re currently in a winter zone). Stay appropriately cool or warm. It probably won’t be that long, but you never know. Time flies, seasons change, and I know from experience that after a while the desire fades, and that’s when I will truly be able to do the work I want to do. And you never know, that might not take long at all.
Be good, be kind, be loving. Just Be. 🙂
Enjoy your hiatus. Get things in order, breathe deeply, follow your heart and we will wait for your return. Patiently.

You post such lovely pictures and quotes and thoughts so often, no wonder you need time for real life. There’s plenty to revisit here and keep impatient ones busy – you go on and wander off – that’s the only way to recharge ….(but we won’t complain if you toss in a single pix once in a while…ok….just store it all up until you explode…it will happen sooner or later ( giggles)
Run. Play. Sort. Group. Live!

Huzzah for hiatuses (?? haitae? haiti?) I hope that your break from the online world gets you appropriately adjusted offline, Robin. I feel like I need to do a reverse hiatus– get some time online after running myself to the ground in real life. 🙂

What a great opening photo collage! Amazing. You are such a talent. I understand the need for separation. But I will surely miss you. I’m not good at keeping up, but I do like to stop by. Heck. SInce I wasn’t good at keeping up, I guess I can go read the ones I missed! Brilliant idea! 🙂 Enjoy your time off. We’ll still be here when you are ready to come back.

Know that you’re not alone…I’ve been in and out the last year or so. Life puts out a lot. It’s up to us to help ourselves to what we can…when we can. No stresses…just go with the flow. We’re all rowing the same boat…to nowhere…fast. 🙂
