Thank you, Merril. 🙂 It’s an Eastern Black Rat Snake. Isn’t she beautiful? I have to admit that they tend to startle me when I see them, but I am glad they’re here. They keep down our rodent population.

I LOVE black snakes. These big fellas eat all the mice that infest shelters along hiking trails, especially along the east coast (in your neck of the woods).

I love them too, Gabe. 🙂 I suspect we’d have more mice in the house if it weren’t for the black snakes. The cats probably help, too. 😀
