In the cherry tree the day after the storms

Eating dried cherries.
Eating dried cherries.

Watching birds has become part of my daily meditation affirming my connection to the earth body.

  1. I can’t believe how much rain we got yesterday (the waterfall was roaring last night)! We nearly lost our bridge over the stream, but fortunately we have it moored. We just have to push it back into place (easier said than done). They’ve issued flood warning for several towns along the Connecticut River. It floods at 28 ft. and 29+ is expected. So glad I’m not living near that massive, roiling river – so scary!

    1. Sounds scary, Eliza! M and I were just talking today about how it will be nice to dry out a little this week. Between rain and snow, things are pretty well saturated around here.

      1. We’ve received over 5″ of precipitation in the past 30 days. With the ground frozen and unable to absorb it, that’s a lotta water in the watershed!
I expect with your low land area, your water table would be pretty high. Soggy galoshes!
