Stunning shot! Such a beautiful, delicate creature. I know it’s not Monarch … do you know its common name?
Thank you so much, Cheryl. 🙂 It is a female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus Linnaeus). The males don’t have the blue markings so it makes it easy to tell them apart.
Thank you, Joanne. 🙂 A friend recently commented that I must have the patience of Buddha, but it’s just that I am good at being a statue in the garden.
I agree, PhilosopherMouse. It was a lucky shot. Most of the time she had her wings in the closed and upward position. And yes, that blue! It’s amazing. 🙂
Comments are delightful and always appreciated. I will respond when I can (life is keeping me busy!), and/or come around to visit you at your place soon. Thank you! Cancel reply

So beautiful and so very clear, I’m afraid that I don’t have the patience to ever take a photo of a butterfly that isn’t blurred. 😉
