Retreating

Do you have anything planned for the weekend?

M and I have a 5K to walk/run first thing in the morning.  After that, it will probably be a weekend devoted to work around the ranch.

I have decided to indulge in an at-home retreat next week.  I’ve signed up for an online meditation conference that runs all next week, and plan to devote a lot of time to learning and meditating.  Since the conference talks and meditations don’t start until 3:00 PM Eastern Time, I can use part of each day to work on my meditation/yoga room.  Chores, I think, are a good part of a retreat, and this particular chore won’t be very chore-like because it will be a work of love.  Or at least a work of desire.  I very much desire a calm and comfortable meditation/yoga room.

I will not be blogging after Sunday (I’ll do a Silent Sunday post), although if I have time this weekend I might set up a few scheduled posts to hold my place for the week.  I’ll be back for the next Silent Sunday post on the 27th.

I’m working up a schedule that will include a morning yoga practice, walks outdoors, time to read, time to write in my journal, and the conference.  I have to figure out which talks I want to listen to because I won’t be able to listen to them all.  That’s too much sitting time, for one thing.  It would also be more internet time than I’m allotted with by my satellite internet provider.

I am also working up a menu of nourishing, nurturing foods.  I’m not doing a cleanse and juicing is definitely not on the agenda.  Juicing is much too time consuming (particularly the clean-up part).  I’ll do some of the prep work this weekend to make things as easy as possible.  Kitchari will be part of the menu.

So I’ll see you again in a little over a week.  Thank you for stopping by today, and for all of your visits and comments.  Have a great weekend and a great week ahead!  If you get a chance, take a little time for yourself to relax or just breathe.

Every day brings new discoveries.

  2. A very soothing post. It sounds like you have a therapeutic week on tap. I’m on vacation from school this week, so I’d like it to be an easy-going week, but it isn’t shaping up that way! Lots to do and I’m betting it will fly by.
