Let’s play

A clue
A clue

A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.

Another clue.
Another clue.

I adore Karma‘s photo hunts.  One of the things I like best about them is that there is usually a way to involve some word play.  Unfortunately, the creative side of my brain is hibernating.  Ms. Creativity is probably tired after all the creative decisions that have had to be made for the house renovations.  I don’t blame her.  Wears me out just thinking about it.

Two clues.
Two clues.

The deadline for Karma’s current photo hunt, A Blogger Contrived Photo Hunt, is February 25th, and I was thinking I could help her advertise by giving you one letter of my word each day this week.  (Volume makes up for lack of creativity, right??)  To avoid making this more work for Karma, I’ll finish with all of the letters in one post on Saturday so she only has to look at one post.  The rest of you will have to put up with a letter a day, or come back on Saturday for the finish if you don’t have time (or inclination) for daily posts.

Another singular clue. Hint: Don't over-think it or get too specific.

I gave a lot of thought to what word or words I would use, and finally, the answer became obvious.  One word would be enough.

All of the photos in the post have something in them that begins with the first letter of my word.

There are two items in this clue that represent the first letter in my word.

Got it yet?  I’ll give you a few more hints, although I doubt you need them.  All of the images were taken around the house.  I went in search of color as well as letters.  I figure we could all use some bright and bold colors about now.

Once again, don't get too specific.

It’s pretty here on the Eastern Shore today.  Sunny and clear, but cold.  As soon as I get this post ready to go out later, I’m heading outside to worship the sun.  We’re going to warm up here this week.  There will be clouds and rain with the warmer weather.  Might as well enjoy the sun while it’s here.

Thank you for dropping in today.  I hope your Monday has been playful and filled with lots of color.  We should go watch the sunset this evening.  Might be the last chance this week, before the cloud cover rolls in.  Meet you on the dock.  I’ll bring some hot chocolate to keep us warm.

This would have given me two clues if there had been one less.

Be good, be kind, be loving.  Just Be.  🙂

Robin is... too many things to list, but here is a start: an artist and writer; a photographer and saunterer; a daughter and sister and granddaughter; a friend, a partner, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother; a gardener, a great and imaginative cook, and the creator of wonderful sandwiches.

  1. Okay, I’m feeling really dense today. However, I adore the feather photos, especially the second photo in the post, first feather photo. Glad you’ve got some sunshine today. I’ll stop by for some of that hot chocolate you’re promising. See you in a bit!

    Hugs from Ecuador,

    1. It might have helped if I’d posted the rules of the photo hunt, Kathy. Sorry about that. We are supposed to pick a word, then photograph items that begin with the letters in the word. For instance, if you picked CAT as your word, you might photograph a C-arrot, an A-pple, and a T-ree, thereby spelling out your word with the first letters in each item. Is it clearer now or did I just muddy the water even more? (I think I’m confused now. lol!)

  2. F!!! 😀 That wasn’t too difficult at all (and I’m so glad I didn’t have to unscramble another word this morning 😉 )
I chose two photos for each letter in my word, but you went even further than that!! Awesome finds, and wonderfully captured, Robin!

    1. Thank you, Michaela. 🙂 I have no life, you see, so that gives me time to play around with too many photos. Ok, that’s not true. I have a life, but I get up early to make time to play. 😀

  3. Wow, Robin, a whole week of your letters? Neat! I wish I was so ambitious. I seem to have stumped myself with my own photo hunt and haven’t even chosen my word yet! I think I should rectify this situation. I got your first letter no problem, and your photos are beautiful, but I must admit the shot with the cauliflower and such confuses me.

    1. Thank you, Karma. 🙂 I’m trying to get myself out of a rut and this seems to be doing the trick. The cauliflower was meant to confuse. Pair it with the fruit. And meat. Bread. Noodles. Anything you eat to maintain life and growth. 😀

  4. I cheated. I just read all the comments. It’s FFFFF! Maybe you’ll spell FUN. But, then again, that would be a short week. 🙂 Especially enjoyed the blue/yellow feathers.

Comments are delightful and always appreciated. I will respond when I can (life is keeping me busy!), and/or come around to visit you at your place soon. Thank you!
