WOW….just wow. I have never seen that many in a flight together. By the time they get up here they are nesting and in pairs pretty much. Though there are LOTS of pairs in our swamps. That was amazing!

Thank you, Dawn. 🙂 Until we moved here, I had only seen them in pairs, too.

such a cacophony of sound they make. I was always glad to see them return to the pond each spring although they were rather greedy around the bird feeders at times!

They can be quite noisy, Joss. And greedy! Even so, it’s amazing see so many flocked together.

I called to Mike (my other half) to come and look at this photo Robin, we’ve never seen so many Blackbirds together, never mind Red Wings. Beautiful photo’s, many thanks for sharing a sight I (we) will never see personally. Happy New Trails. xPenx

Thank you, Pen. 🙂 Do you have Red-Winged Blackbirds over there? I’ve seen them traveling with the European Starlings. When the two groups get together, there are hundreds of them. It’s amazing.

What great pictures! Lucky you to get such a nice close up shot. I’ve seen those great groupings of blackbirds and it is so cool to see, but I’ve never gotten as close as these shots.

Thank you, Karma. 🙂 This group landed in the front yard after the rain. Must have been something good to eat there.

Breathtaking! I saw hundreds of crows in the trees near our new house the other day, but seeing the flashes of red and yellow in your photos has me feeling pretty envious now…
