At the beginning of the day

Moon and clouds meet early in the morning

The beginning is always today.

At the beginning of the day, just before the sun came up over the lagoon, the world was frosty and quiet.  Even the early birds were silent, waiting to see what wonders Sun and Moon would create in the sky.

We don’t have the aurora borealis this far south, but colors still like to play in the clouds at dawn.  Aurora, the Goddess of Dawn, and Boreas, God of North Wind, dance with each other, swirling and painting, playing dress-up in the sky.

The moonlight was soft this morning, almost fluid, with its veil of thin clouds.

Have you ever seen the dawn?  Not a dawn groggy with lack of sleep or hectic with mindless obligations and you about the rush off on an early adventure or business, but full of deep silence and absolute clarity of perception?  A dawning which you truly observe, degree by degree.  It is the most amazing moment of birth.  And more than anything it can spur you to action.  Have a burning day.

The sunrise was soft and fluid, too, reflecting on the delicate layer of ice on the lagoon.

Beginning

Light and color spread, the world beginning to brighten and take shape once again.

Awakening
Awakening

I sometimes wonder if the world reassembles itself each day, just as the sun rises and the moon sets.

Thank you for watching the sunrise with me today.  It’s been a lovely day here at the Wabi-Sabi Ranch.  Warm, sunny, with a few thin wisps of cloud overhead.  A perfect, outdoors kind of day.  Alas, I spent most of it indoors, either at home or running errands.  There is still some daylight left, so let’s head out to the dock and see what sunset has to offer.

Be good, be kind, be loving.  Just Be.  🙂

The end is in the beginning and lies far ahead.
