Taller than the trees

Stretching to the sky

I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees.

We are having another glorious fall day.  Sunny, warm but not too warm.  Sometimes the sky is clear and blue.  Sometimes clouds stream in.  The trees are still holding on to most of their leaves.  Sunrises and sunsets have been glorious.

We’ve been busy here at the Wabi-Sabi Ranch.  The electrical guys are finally finished with their work in the kitchen and we now have light.  Light in a kitchen is a wonderful thing.  With the new lighting, I might be less likely to chop off a finger while prepping food.

Shall I not have intelligence with the earth?  Am I not partly leaves and vegetable mould myself?

The kitchen cabinets are scheduled for delivery, and we also have a tentative schedule for installation.  If all goes well, our new kitchen will be up and running by Thanksgiving.  I’ve learned enough about Eastern Shore time to know that nothing runs on schedule so I’m not going to count on it.  That way, I’ll be delightfully surprised if it is finished by then.

I need to keep this short today.  The moving company responsible for damaging some of our furniture has hired a man to come by and repair (if he can) the furniture that needs repaired.  If it looks like he’ll be here all day and if he doesn’t need me around, I’m going to take my bicycle out for a spin and see what’s happening in the neighborhood.  Come along with me.  It’ll be fun.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be good, be kind, be loving.  Just Be.  🙂

NaBloPoMo November 2013

Today’s joys:  Color.  And more color.   A flock of robins hanging out in the tree near the greenhouse.  Laughter.  Izzy and Bella.  The way the wind dances through the woods and meadows.

  1. There’s a lot to be said for lightening, isn’t there? That–and avoiding amputation. Both are good.

Glad to hear you’ve having lovely weather. I love the mushroom image.

    1. lol, Marie! I do believe you’re right. It would be difficult to prepare food (and do other things) without all of my fingers. I did get out on my bike and, like your weeding, it was therapeutic. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Michaela. 🙂 Unfortunately, only a few of the damaged items could be fixed. For the rest, we’ll get the replacement cost. That’s okay for most of the items but there is one that has sentimental value. The repair man said he can’t fix it, but he made some suggestions and I have a friend who has made some suggestions so… we’ll see.
