The drain hose on the washing machine popped
The floor in the mud room is now mopped
The flood was confined,
and it could have been worse
Only the floor was submersed
(Poetry is not one of my strengths.)

I love it, so whimsical and cheery, life just is!

Thank you, Christine. 😀 This is quite representative of my day today, and all I could do when I saw the flood was laugh. Monty Python’s “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” has been playing in my head since I started mopping up the mess.

Not quite a wordless reply, lol! Sounds like a nightmare, but you seem pretty cheerful in spite of it. Hope Thursday is better!

LOL, Rabbit! The whole day was a mess. Have a look over at the Tree for my list of things I’m thankful for today. If I didn’t laugh at it, I’d have to sit down in the puddle of water and cry. 🙂

Thank goodness the room had not yet been renovated.

Thank goodness indeed, Colline. I’d hate to have ruined a new floor with all that water. It was a good lesson to learn while we’re renovating. 🙂

Oh, NO! Glad you were able to laugh. It reminds me of when our house in Haiti was flooded with liquid mud. NOT fun!
Hugs from Ecuador,

Liquid MUD? I’d have to agree, Kathy. NOT fun. At least this was soapy water that smelled fairly good and could be mopped up. 🙂

It sounds like you averted disaster..haha…. I’m sorry you had a bad day; I guess there’s no escaping our share of those horrid moments!

Thank you, CM. I suspect the late, great Theodor Seuss Geisel has nothing to worry about, though. 😉

Glad you could laugh about it! We had a similar thing happen to us years ago in Texas. It was confined to the utility room where our washer and dryer was, but my husband’s National Geographic collection was there, too. Ouch!

Ouch is right, Susan! Makes me glad that we haven’t had a chance to store anything of worth (sentimental or otherwise) in the laundry room just yet. Or ever, now that I think about it. 😀

Yeah, Dawn. It does. Or did. But the floor is clean now. That’s something. 🙂

I was soooo not supposed to laugh, but I did, that was a very funny and uplifting thing to do with the tide of your flood! 🙂
I wonder if all of the curse words got used up over on Kathy’s blog?!

LOL, Elisa! I don’t think so. I used a lot of curse words when I first saw the water forming a small lake in the laundry room. Some were worse than what was going on over at Kathy’s.

Oh, it’s just “if it’s not one thing, it;s another”
You do have great door there – and some actual room in that mud room (which is making quite a splash at this point.)
At least it’s not far to slosh the water outside – and you can open the door for fresh (hopefully drying) air.
Fingers crossed, it’s all better now

Good way to look at the bright side, PhilosopherMouse. 🙂 You’re right about the door. The man that built the place put in some great doors and windows. And yes, it is all better now. Yay!

LOL, Marie! You could eat off of it. Not that you’d want to, but it’s that clean. 🙂
