I was sorting through my photos yesterday, having a look at what I captured this month, and realized I have some photos from Assateague and Chincoteague Islands that I haven’t shown you yet.

While in school who was your favorite teacher — what grade and why?

This is terrible, but I can’t come up with a favorite teacher.  I disliked school, intensely.  I dropped out of high school (don’t worry, I got my GED right away, and started college soon after), and I think my dislike of school is why I never bothered to finish college.  I can’t figure out what I want to be when I grow up, either, so college seems pointless without something to major in.  I know there are good teachers out there.  I just don’t remember having one that made any lasting impression on me.  My sons had a few good teachers, and I do remember them.  Fondly.

Would you accept $5,000 to shave your head or dye it bright lime green and continue your normal activities while not explaining the reason for your haircut or color?

In a heartbeat.  And then use that money to buy a new camera.

Oh, but not so fast!  I’m not sure I’d shave my head.  Dye it?  Sure.  Shaving, though, is a little extreme.  But I would certainly give it a great deal of thought before saying no.  Or maybe I’d say yes.  I hear it grows back thicker, and I could use some thicker hair.

You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?

My husband.  He’s one of the most resourceful people I know.  We wouldn’t be trapped long because he’d figure out how to fix it or get out, which is a very good thing because I don’t like elevators.  They make me feel trapped even when I’m not trapped.  I take the stairs as often as possible.

By the way, M and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary yesterday.  🙂

Forward march. (Assateague)

When you are with your friends, do your interactions include much touching — for example, hugging, kissing, rough housing, rubbing backs?  Would you like to have more of this?  (Note:  the answers may vary depending on where you live on this wonderful planet.)

It depends on the friends.  There’s not much rough housing (women don’t seem to do that as much as men).  But there are usually some hugs and kisses or friendly touches.  I do have some friends who prefer not to get physical.  I understand that.  I used to be that way, too.  Now I’m rather fond of hugs, friendly kisses, and friendly touches depending on the friend and circumstances.

Back at the ranch, things are coming along slowly.  We’re still attempting to get estimates on kitchen work that we prefer not to do ourselves.  I try to be patient, but being on Eastern Shore time means nothing is getting done.  Some of the estimates need explanations (because they’re so high!), and getting explanations takes twice as long as getting the estimates in the first place.

Hopefully things will start moving along soon.  Much of what we want to do depends on getting the kitchen renovated first.  Getting the kitchen renovated means I can unpack the boxes with the kitchen stuff which frees up the rooms where the boxes are currently being stored which opens up the rooms to be painted or whatever needs to be done which also opens up the room to furniture stored elsewhere waiting on the boxes to be unpacked.  The domino effect is in play here.
